Deactivating Outdated Drug Listing Records

The FDA recently announced that it would begin “deactivating outdated drug listing records” on the FDA NDC Directory and identifying the deactivated NDCs on the NSDE file. This does not change CMS policy with respect to submission and editing of PDEs in the Drug Data Processing System (DDPS) or Part D drug coverage policies as a result of these upcoming changes to the FDA drug listing process.
